Lora Lee passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2026 at the age of 61. Lora was born in Innisfail Alberta to Verna and Tom Chamberlain. She grew up in the Spruce View area, graduating from Spruce View High School in 1982. After attending the Hollingshead Business College in Calgary, she obtained a position as an administrative assistant. During this time she met her future husband, Ken Lowther. Lora and Ken were married in the Dickson Church on September 7th 1985. They were blessed with their first son Zach while living in Calgary. In 1989 they decided to move their family out of the city and bought a house in Didsbury Alberta. After some renovations and painting, they moved in. Shortly thereafter, they were blessed with their second son Clay. Lora operated a family day home until the boys were both in school. She then went back to work in the insurance industry. Lora was a loving mom who always made special events at Birthdays, Halloween and Christmas. She enjoyed taking the boys to band practice and all of their sports activities. She was a member of Scouts Canada for many years and was leader of the Didsbury Wolf Pack. Lora enjoyed working with the kids, organizing fund raisers, chaperoning campouts, teaching crafts and joining in with all the fun activities. Lora loved to cook and was a collector of recipe books. She had a passion for reading and music, her favorite hobbies included crocheting, sewing and gardening. Lora moved to Sylvan Lake in 2010 and after suffering a stroke in 2018, she moved to the farm with her parents. She was a beautiful and loving daughter, a dear friend to all and always willing to lend a helping hand where needed.
Lora will be lovingly remembered by her special friend Graham Hickin. Her two sons, Zach and granddaughter Summer of Surrey B.C, and Clay (Aria) of Yellowknife NWT. Her mother Verna Chamberlain of Spruce View and brothers Joe (Mona) of Sylvan Lake, Mike (Tammy) of Spruce View.
She will be deeply missed by Auntie Janet (Gary) of Innisfail, Uncle Lanny of Keevisville, Auntie Sylvia of Edmonton, Uncle Don (Cathy) of Barrhead, Auntie Susan of Innisfail, Auntie Betty of Vancouver Island, Uncle Neil (Heather) of Sherwood Park as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lora was predeceased by her father Tom, nephew Braeden Chamberlain, maternal grandparents Mike and Ruby McKain, paternal grandparents Earl and Joyce Chamberlain and Sylvia and John Gigliotti.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to MS Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
