Shirley Marie Kleven Obituary
Shirley Marie Kleven of Red Deer Alberta passed away with family by her side at Bethany Collegeside, Red Deer Alberta on April 10, 2026, at the age of 83 years.
Shirley was born in Galahad Alberta on February 27, 1943, to parents Berniece and Felix Lang. She was the first born and wore the title well. Her commitment to the family farm, and her family, was immeasurable. She was the perfect combination of strength and care. She went on to raise her own family and did so the best she could. Shirley’s family was everything to her, and she was to them.
There is no way to start this but by acknowledging how truly precious of a soul Shirley was. There’s no doubt that each person whose lives she has touched can collectively agree she bore the purest love. Whether it be animals, art, nature, family, friends, strangers, or even foe, Shirley saw beauty in everyone and everything.
Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Joyce Brewster, Verle Lang, Jay Campbell, and Kay Campbell; children Cory and Michael Kleven, and Shelley Palash; grandchildren Haley, Tristan, Hannah, Tasheena, and Misty Kleven, Shae-Lyn and Shantel Palash, and Sharlie Adams (and sons); and by her great grandchildren Drezden and Mayze Kleven.
She was predeceased by her mother Berniece Campbell, father Felix Lang, stepfather Johnny Campbell, nephew Dustin Campbell and daughter Audra Kleven.
A memorial service will be held at the Red Deer First Baptist Church, 4310 – 39 St, Red Deer AB, on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
Condolences to Shirley’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Shirley Kleven” in the subject line.
