George Thomas Halisky Obituary

George Thomas Halisky of Red Deer, passed away after a short stay at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on May 11, 2026, with his son and daughter by his side. He was 96 years old. George came from a family with nine siblings, all of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Jean Mary Halisky.


George loved life and people. He pursued all he did with passion and excellence whether it was to work or play. He loved sports, music, travel, card games and get-togethers. George worked for the Beaver Lumber Company for nearly 40 years and was a devoted member of the Lions Club for over 60 years. He had a deep abiding faith and attended the church all his life up to the last couple of years when his mobility became too impaired.


George is survived by his son Ward; daughter Cyndee (Brian) Brack; 4 grandchildren: Gabriel, Katelyn, Jared (Amanda), Addison (Tianna); 3 great grandchildren: Klover, Jace (Tehya), Ember, and 1 great great grandchild: Bentley.


A celebration of George’s life will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of CrossRoads Church, 38105 – Rge Rd 275, Red Deer County, AB.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Red Deer Lions Club, PO Box 292, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 5E8
