Brenda Lynne Thompson Obituary

Brenda Lynne Thompson passed away at the Red Deer Hospice, on June 1st, 2026, at the age of 64.

Brenda was born in 1964 in Toronto, Ontario, in York County. As a young girl, the family spent some time living in Switzerland, but she was mostly raised in Sarnia, Ontario.

Brenda’s work career was highlighted by her time working with a women’s interval home in 2011, volunteering for women’s homes in 2012, and her secretarial work for Mariott Hotels in 2014. Her best and happiest accomplishment in life was becoming a Nana in 2015; Her Lovebugs meant the world to her.

Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her son Robert (Jessica) Thompson; daughter Nicole Lashmar; grandchildren Zachary and Xavier Thompson, Hunter and Lincoln Lashmar, Maya and Aaden Tyshynski, Norma, and George; brother (Robert) Brian Thompson; sister Bev Dougall (Thompson); her extended in-laws Barry Plato “Papa Bear”, and Crystal and Aaron Tyshynski; as well as by her village of friends in Red Deer and Sarnia.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks instead that memorial donations may be made to the Red Deer Outreach Centre (formerly Central Alberta Women's Outreach Society), 4101 54 Ave, Red Deer, AB T4N 7G3. Condolences to Brenda’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Brenda Thompson” in the subject line.
