Sim Alfred Yampolsky Obituary

 


Sim Alfred Yampolsky of Lacombe, Alberta, passed away at the Continuing Care Centre of the Lacombe Hospital on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the age of 88 years.


 


Sim was born March 6, 1935 in the Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia to Maxie (Max) and Dorothy Yampolsky (nee Goldston): delivered by Dr. Isabel Day. Sim spent time in the militia. He had an interest in criminology, which he studied, and worked as a guard in the federal prisons.  For several years at the end of his career, he worked as a personal care aid until an injury forced his retirement. He moved from British Columbia to Alberta in 1996 for health reasons. In 2019 Sim became a Christian, taking Jesus Christ as his personal savior.


 


Sim will be lovingly remembered by his two sons Bill and Bryan Yampolsky. Sim was predeceased by his two brothers David and Nathan Yampolsky; and his sister Rose Braithwaite.


 


A private family service will be held to honor Sim’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Diabetes Canada, 1300-522 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5G 2R5. Condolences to Sim’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
