William Jackson

Obituary of William James Jackson

It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of William James “Jim” Jackson on January 24, 2025, at the age of 84 years.

Jim was born in Red Deer, Alberta, on December 27, 1940. He married the love of his life Georgina in 1962, and together they continued the legacy of family farming in the Hillsdown district, until his retirement in 2003.

Jim had a passion for farming, curling, hunting, fishing, and found peace in the great outdoors. Jim was a devoted family man, who treasured time spent with his loving wife, children and grandchildren.  His hard work, family love, and passion for the outdoors will be remembered by all who knew him.

Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Georgina; children Candy (Randy), and Russell (Avril); grandchildren Sierra (Jaime), and Mackenzie (Austyn); and by his great-grandchild Isla. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Wilf and Doris; brothers Danny and Terry; his son Vince; and his son-in-law Randy.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Collegeside, as well as Richard and Harriet Malone of Companions for Seniors, for all their excellent care and compassion.

To honor Jim’s wishes, the family will not be holding a funeral service. Condolences to Jim’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Jackson” in the subject line.
