Richard Trudgeon

Obituary of Richard Edward Trudgeon

Richard Edward Shannon Trudgeon (REST) is now resting of all sickness and discomfort but missed deeply by the family he leaves behind! Richard passed at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on February 12, 2025 at the age of 84 years.

Richard was the eldest and only boy of Elsie and Percy Trudgeon, a truly Alberta boy !! Born in Lamont, Ab, he grew up to become a fine gentle man, quiet in nature but with a sharp sense of humor. Richard held various jobs, City of Red Public Works, Robco/Tiara Cabinets, Industrial/Residential Painting and his own business of Wood Working and Cabinet Spraying.

Richard was an avid hockey player during his younger days, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking, four wheeling, canoeing, down hill/cross country skiing, golfing, planting beautiful gardens, bird watching, beautiful wood carvings as a hobby and word find puzzles, but most of all relaxing in front of the TV with his beloved Dachshund dogs by his side or on his lap.

Richard and his wife Lou travelled extensively throughout Mexico, he loved the country, the music, the atmosphere and the warm climate, not so much the food (too hot) !

Richard may be absent but not forgotten, lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Lou; daughters Laurel, Vicki (Udo); son Vincent; grandchildren Ian (Amanda), Nathan (Brittany), Brittany (Stephen), Cherilynn, Nichole (Clay); great grandchildren Isabella, Emilia, Ethan, Emberly, Bennett and the newest one, only days old, “JR” Jack Richard.

Richard will also be missed by siblings Ruth, Marj (Patrick) Betty and Joel; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Carol and stepson Carlos.

A Celebration of Life is planned for close to his birthday in April, details to be announced at a later date.
