Ella Hoare

Obituary of Ella Mae Hoare

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ella Mae Hoare (Ellie), 75, of Sylvan Lake, on February 13, 2025, in Red Deer Regional Hospital, after a long fight with leukemia.

Ellie was born on November 30, 1949, to Ed and Jessie Hoare in Caroline, Alberta. She worked over 30 years for the Alberta Treasury Branch, serving in locations all around Alberta. After leaving the financial world, she worked various jobs in central Alberta, finding herself moving to several communities, including Didsbury and Rocky Mountain House.

She married Robert Clark in 2018 and they moved to Sylvan Lake for their retirement.

Ellie's good humour and spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Ellie will be remembered by her husband Robert; sisters Marjorie Peters and Trudy (Dave) Quinlan; nieces and nephews; great niece and nephews; stepson Trevor and family; numerous family members and friends; and by her precious pups, Molly and Mattie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law Lorne; and by a number of other friends and relatives.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bilston and the staff on unit 32 for the kindness and exceptional care Ellie received over the last year.

Ellie will be cremated, and a memorial for family will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Ellie’s honour to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, 3942 50a Ave, Red Deer, AB. Condolences to Ellie’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Hoare” in the subject line.
