Obituary of Marjory Rose Vincent

It is with great sorrow, yet with deep love and respect that we announce Marjory’s death at the age of 82 years.  She passed after an aggressive but thankfully brief illness and died peacefully, surrounded by her two loving children, Dan and Gayle.

Marjory was an avid gardener who loved to share her passion for her garden with everyone who came by, whether family, friend or stranger.  She took great pride in her yard and really enjoyed giving yard tours and talking flowers.  She always had at least one pet, whether feathered, finned, or furry, and loved each one to bits.  She was a diehard Bluejays baseball fan who never missed a game.  Marjory was a woman who loved travel and adventure, especially with her best friend, her brother Ed, across Alberta and far beyond.  Right to the end of her life, Marjory loved a good cup of coffee.  And she loved her children above all else.

She is predeceased by her parents Charlie and Margaret Jones, sister Elaine (George) and brothers Ed and Wes.  She is survived by her children Dan and Gayle (Brent), siblings Ken (Doreen), Connie, and Wendy (Mark) and their respective families, as well as her large extended family.

At Marjory’s request, there will be no funeral or gathering.  Instead, she asked that people stop and enjoy some flowers, spend time with loved ones, cheer for the right team, stay proudly Canadian, and please, enjoy a cup of coffee on her behalf.

Danny and Gayle express our deeply heartfelt thanks to all of the staff of Unit 32 of the Red Deer Regional Hospital who cared so compassionately for Mom and for us in her time of need.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Red Deer and District Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (S.P.C.A.), the Salvation Army, or a charity close to your heart.

Go Bluejays, Go!

Condolences to Marjory’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Marjory Vincent” in the subject line.
