Obituary of Marbie Kathleen Edwards
Marbie Kathleen Edwards (née Huber) of Red Deer, Alberta, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on April 7th, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Edam, Saskatchewan, in 1939, Marbie moved to Red Deer as a young child. She was a lifelong and devoted member of the Gospel Hall, later known as Balmoral Bible Chapel, where she met the love of her life, Murray. Marbie stood faithfully by Murray’s side as they built and ran their successful business, Edwards Trucking, for 44 years. Together, they travelled the world - often in the company of friends and family. A warm, strong, and family-oriented woman, Marbie had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. She nurtured many special friendships throughout her life, some dating back to high school.
Marbie will be deeply missed by her children: Don (Cathy) Edwards, and Shauna (Paul) Dunbar; Grandchildren: Melissa (Glen) Stewart, Julia (Ryan) Jantzi, Jeff Edwards (Lacey Perry), Justin (Rachelle) Dunbar, and Michelle Edwards-Perry; Great-grandchildren: Mason, Melanie, Max, Katie, Dawson, and Elianna; Siblings: Ornan Huber and Ruth Edwards; And by many other extended family members and close friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Murray Edwards; parents, Jacob and Martha Huber; siblings Reuben, Ella, Alvin, and Dorothy; and her grandson-in-law, Jon Perry. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Units 24 and 32 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, and to the team at the Red Deer Hospice, for their compassionate care.
A celebration of Marbie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 10th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Balmoral Bible Chapel, 2700 – 55 St., Red Deer AB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marbie’s memory may be made to the Red Deer Hospice.
