Obituary of Sean Douglas Dunlap
Sean Douglas Dunlap of Red Deer AB, passed away peacefully at the Wetaskiwin Long Term Care Centre in Wetaskiwin AB on April 12, 2025 at the age of 55 years.
Sean was born in Edmonton AB on January 11, 1970 to Donald and Kathleen Dunlap. He was raised in Joffrey, Lacombe and Red Deer. Sean was blessed to have a sister Tara and a brother Chris join the family. He attended Lacombe Composite High School where he enjoyed playing football. Sean graduated in 1989. Sean was very much a Edmonton Elks and Edmonton Oilers fan, the favorite players being Wayne Gretzky, Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and many more.
Sean enjoyed being with family and friends and having fun. He enjoyed rollerblading, riding his bike, and playing cards and board games with family and friends. He also had a love for bowling and even won a perfect game. Later on in life, Sean found the love of disc golf when it started up in Red Deer.
Sean met the love of his life Laura Smart on November 17, 2000 on a blind date. In the fall of 2001, Sean and Laura were married on November 24, 2001 at Living Stones Church. From there, they lived a happy life with family and friends.
Sean is survived by his loving wife Laura; brother Chris Dunlap; sister Tara Stewart; parents Donald and Kathleen as well as Ashlyn, Josh, Emma, Ethan, Cindy, Erika, Nolen, Samantha, Mackenzie and Holly as well as numerous other extended family members and friends.
An informal “come and go” time of fellowship will be held at the Pioneer Lodge, 4324 – 46 A Ave, Red Deer AB between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025.
