Obituary of Keith Percy Cathers
Keith Percy Cathers passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre at the age of 83 years on Sunday, May 18, 2025 surrounded by family.
Keith was a retired Alberta Provincial Plumbing and Gas Inspector and also held a “Red Seal” as a “Journeyman Hairdresser” as the Saskatchewan Government accidently issued that certificate as well as his Plumbing and Gas Certificates. Keith always got a laugh at showing people both certificates. And said he could inspect your plumbing and give you a haircut at the same time LOL!
Keith and Sharon were married on October 28th, 1961, and over the years they lived in Red Deer, Calgary, De Winton, and a farm North of Stettler. They enjoyed many winters in Yuma with their friends and family. Keith enjoyed golfing, camping, hunting, and especially loved Sharon’s cooking.
He is survived by his children Shelley (Gord) and Clint (Cheryl); grandchildren (Kyle, Carley, Kayla, Tyler and their spouses); eight great grandchildren as well as his two sisters Janice (Herb), and Anne (Magnus).
He was predeceased by his parents Arthur & Laura; brother Robert (Margaret) and his loving wife Sharon.
As per Keith’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
Keith’s family would like to thank the staff at the Red Deer Hospital from units 21 and 32 for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta and/or the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
Condolences to Keith’s family may be emailed to meaninful@telus.net. Please indicate “KEITH CATHERS” in the subject line.
