Obituary of John Alvin Nelson

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of John Alvin “Jack” Nelson of Stettler Alberta, May 20, 2025, after battling cancer at the age of 67 years old.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, Edithe A. Nelson, John H. Nelson. Jack is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Valerie Nelson; sons, Jonathan and Ethan Nelson; stepchildren, Kayla Prime (Emma, Madison, Alexis), Andrew Prime, Brayden Elliott (Brooke, Harmony, Jasper), Taylor Elliott (Melissa), Quinten Wen (Taylor), Makenna Wen (Dawson, Hudson, Oakland); brother, Francis Nelson; niece, Loranda; nephew, Frank, as well as other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held June 22, 2025, at the Stettler Recreation Centre “The Hub” (6202 44 Ave Stettler AB) from 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm. Bring all your good memories of Jack. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Horse Rescue, Stars, or children’s hospital.
