The family of Kevin Charles Koenig, of Red Deer Alberta, announces his unexpected passing on July 12, 2025, at the age of 65.
Kevin was born in Red Deer, Alberta, on October 3rd, 1959. He worked alongside his Dad for a few years as a flooring installer, learning the trade from him. He also worked as a janitorial custodian, cleaning the 3 movie theatres in Red Deer in the late 70s and early 80s. He then ventured out to work for other various flooring companies, until his retirement a few years ago.
Kevin was an avid lover of music and movies, and he liked to read as well. He was a man of very few words.
Kevin is survived by his brother Gregg Koenig (Carolyn); sister Pamela Finner (Darryl); as well as nephews, a niece, and many cousins. He is also survived by his children from two previous marriages: Trinity Koenig, Daniel Koenig, Timothy Koenig, and Demetre Condon.
Kevin is predeceased by his parents, Shirley Koenig (nee Hill) (1999), and Charles (Chuck) Koenig (2017).
Many thanks to the EMS, Red Deer Regional Hospital, Bridges Community Living, and his friends at his apartment building.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (heartandstroke.ca/donations). Condolences to Kevin’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “K. Koenig” in the subject line.
