With deep sorrow, we share the unexpected passing of Beverly Mary Ellen Rutherford on October 22, 2025, at the age of 73, in Red Deer, Alberta. After a lengthy struggle with heart disease, Beverly passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Bev’s greatest joy was making sure the people and pets in her life felt happy, loved, and always had a full belly. In her final weeks, she delighted in preparing meals, baking treats, and sharing the best hugs. She was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to share words of love and encouragement. Her sharp wit, stubborn strength, and infectious laughter will be cherished and deeply missed by all who knew her.

Bev will be lovingly remembered by her children: Alfred Rutherford, Tyler (Roxanne) Rutherford, Jason (Danelle) Rutherford, and Julia (Barry) Rutherford. She was the proudest Nan to her grandchildren; Megan, Stevie, Makenzie, Brodie, Ashley, James, Abbigail, Dylan, Caleb, Jessica, Ethan, Taya, Deegan, and Makao, and her great-grandchildren; Dawson, Kinsley, and Hudson.

Honoring Beverly’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Her ashes will be divided between Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, resting beside her late husband Fraser Rutherford, and her childhood home in Sechelt, British Columbia.
