Colin Bruce Badger Obituary

Colin Bruce Badger was born in Valleyview, Alberta to Josephine Yellowknee and Bobby Badger on May 14, 1967, the second youngest of their five children. Throughout his childhood Colin moved multiple times, attending high school in Grand Prairie. Colin’s love of music started at a young age, and soon he was playing his drums as he travelled through Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. One of Colin’s many loves were for his animals, especially his horses and his three dogs. Colin enjoyed riding and breaking horses, a joy he passed on to several nieces, nephews and his children. He could often be seen travelling with his dogs while driving as a transport truck driver for Barr-Ag Ltd. and Highway 9.

Throughout his life Colin enjoyed a variety of careers but the one he enjoyed the most was playing his drums. He played with several bands throughout his travels including the Tomahawk Band, Evening Shades, The Mid-Nite Special Band, Dream Chaser, and 5 ‘n’ Go. During his travels he eventually made his way to Red Deer where he met and married Sandy Goodeye. He then moved to Blackfalds where he resided at the time of his passing. Colin will always be remembered for his unwavering work ethic and by his dedication and loyalty to his family, friends, and all those he encountered.

Colin is survived by his wife Sandy; mother Josephine; brother Emil; sister Franny; his children Lindsey and Danita; special nephew Milton; sister-in-law Roxanne; as well as by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, a host of friends and his musician family. Colin was predeceased by his father Bobby; sisters Verna and Sylvestine; brothers-in-law Dave and Vic; and mother-in-law Jackie.

A celebration of Colin’s life will be held at the Spruce view Hall in Spruce view, Alberta on November 8, 2025 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association through their website at www.diabetes.ca. Condolences to Colin’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
