David Reginald Holden of Lacombe AB passed away at the Lacombe Hospital on November 19, 2025 at the age of 48 years.

David was born in Calgary, Alberta on October 25th, 1977, and built a dedicated career as an Electronics Technician, most recently with Spartek Systems.

David’s life was filled with creativity and passion. He was known online as DJ HIJAK, co-founded Game Refraction, streamed games, and filled his home with intricate 3D-printed creations. A lifelong fan of Dune, Star Trek, and all things sci-fi and gaming, he formed friendships and communities that meant the world to him.

David faced cancer with extraordinary courage. After years of treatment, he chose to spend his final months surrounded by the love of his family. He will be remembered for his humour, kindness, curiosity, and the deep devotion he had to his family and friends.

David was a loving husband to Natalia (“Tali”) and a devoted father to Kennedy, Aimee (Tanis), Sydney, Nikki, and Brady. In 2023, he proudly became a grandfather to Aubrey.  He will also be fondly remembered by his father Reginald (Barbara) Holden; mother Lorraine (Frank) Holden; sister Shauna (Ian) Murdoch as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Forever loved, forever missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Blackfalds Community Hall, 4810 – Womacks Road, Blackfalds AB on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
