Dale Bary Komishke of Innisfail, Alberta, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 19, 1942, Dale grew up on a farm near Donalda, Alberta, where he developed the values that guided him throughout his life—hard work, responsibility, and a deep appreciation for the land and the animals around him. His early years on the farm shaped the kind, patient, and capable man he would become, and he carried a lifelong love of farming with him. Dale had a natural way with animals, often described as an “animal whisperer,” able to calm, understand, and care for them with remarkable ease.
On June 11, 1966, Dale married the love of his life, Dianne, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned nearly six decades. Together, they built a loving family, welcoming their son Stewart on April 22, 1967; their daughter Rae-anne on October 9, 1969; and their son Jeffery on January 1, 1972. Dale cherished his role as a husband and father, finding his greatest joy in the life they created together.
A talented and respected mechanic, Dale possessed an exceptional ability to understand and repair anything that came his way. His skill and dedication led him to open his own business, Allendale Services Ltd., which he proudly operated from March 1974 to December 1990. Dale took great pride in providing honest, reliable work, and his customers valued both his expertise and his integrity. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need—family, friends, neighbours, or the occasional stranger who crossed his path.
Outside of work, Dale enjoyed the things he loved most: playing baseball in his younger years, cheering for his beloved LA Dodgers, playing cards, spending time outdoors, and fixing anything that needed attention. Dale and Dianne spent many winters in Yuma, AZ with wonderful friends as well as exploring many other wonderful holiday destinations. Dale’s patient, capable, and generous spirit was evident in everything he did.
Dale leaves behind his loving wife, Dianne, and his children: Stewart Komishke (Danyll), Rae-anne Landin (Jim), and Jeffery Komishke (Tanya); grandchildren: Hunter Komishke (Grace), Peyton Komishke, Jordan Gies (Mackenzie), Jayme Gies, and Cole, Cy, and Grace Komishke; sister Marlene Murray (Ken); twin brother Wayne Komishke (Holly); and numerous nieces and nephews who held him in great affection.
He was predeceased by his father Albert Komishke, his mother Ruth Komishke, his brother Ron Komishke, his sister-in-law Kathy Komishke, his niece Audra Komishke, and his great-nephew Zane Middlemiss.
A small, immediate-family celebration of life will be held on December 1, 2025, to honour Dale’s memory and the meaningful life he lived. Condolences to Dale’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Dale Komishke” in the subject line.
“In our hearts you will always stay. Loved and missed every day.”
