Robert Verge

Obituary of Robert Wilson Verge

Bob passed away after an extended battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. He was called home to heaven on March 24, 2024, at age 75 and is now with his Lord and Saviour.

Bob was born in St. Catharines, Ontario on March 28, 1948, to Florence and Wilson Verge. During his growing years the family lived in Ontario, Alberta, and BC. From a young age, Bob showed a great talent for music. He first played professionally at age 15. Bob became a very skilled musician, singer and composer and loved to share his gift with others. In later years he taught music. Some of his happiest times were when he was performing or spending many hours in his home studio in Kelowna where he played piano, drums, bass, and guitar and recorded himself and others.

Bob married Laurie Orange in 2000, and they lived in Kelowna until relocating to Lacombe, Alberta in 2022.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Laurie and his children - Anda (Wade), Paul (Rhea), Joe (Melinda) and Tom (Kotomi) and his grandson Austin. He is also survived by his step-children - Krystyn and Justin (Melissa) and his step-grandchildren Emily and Khloe.  Bob also leaves behind his sisters – Nancy (Henry) and Jane (Graham) and his brother Geoff (Carol), sisters-in-law Sandra-Dawne, Sherry and Gail (Jerry) as well as nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Kelowna. Details will be posted.

My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.  Psalm 73:26
