When it comes to planning a funeral or memorial service, many families today are having to make choices based on the cost instead of what their needs and wishes are. Some families, due to costs, are choosing to have a small memorial service that they themselves arrange or in some cases, have no service at all.
Meaningful Memorials Funeral Service is able to assist families in making the choices for planning a meaningful funeral, memorial, graveside service, reception or basic cremation and not have to incur the higher costs that are often seen when dealing with traditional funeral homes.
We will assist families to ensure costs are kept to a minimal. For families wishing to arrange their own memorial service, Meaningful Memorials will assist with the cremation arrangements and offer guidance to the family in planning their own service. Assistance and guidance will also be provided for families wishing to have a service arranged in full with all details looked after by Meaningful Memorials. We can be involved as extensive or as minimal as a family requires or requests.
Over the years, many changes have taken place in the funeral industry. Many more options are now available for families when it comes to cremation, memorial and funeral planning. Our focus to the families we serve is to discuss ALL options available and offer suggestions to ensure the needs of the family and the deceased are met and done so without incurring high unaffordable costs. Families should be able to grieve the loss of a loved one without having to grieve the final funeral invoice. Families should be able to choose the services and merchandise that they wish, they can afford and that suits there needs.
Meaningful Memorials Funeral Service is able to offer the same services as a traditional funeral home, however, by not having the overhead of a large funeral home facility / chapel, fleet of vehicles, number of full time staff, a large casket / urn inventory, extensive advertising, we are able to provide our services and merchandise at considerably lower costs than would typically be found in a traditional funeral home.
You do not need a traditional funeral home to hold a funeral. Throughout Red Deer and Central Alberta, there are many choices and venues available to choose from that may better suit the needs and budget of a family. The respect and dignity shown by a family when a death occurs is not measured in how much they spent on the cremation, memorial or funeral services.

Funeral Plans
Times have changed. The options available for funeral planning have also changed. For those who have pre-arranged funeral plans in place with other funeral providers, you may wish to review your options. This may even include changing funeral providers. Some existing pre-arrangement funeral plans may be transferable. This also includes any Red Deer and District Memorial Society membership and pre-arranged funeral plans.
