Eugenia Theodora "Gwen" Landsiedel Obituary

Eugenia “Gwen” Landsiedel of Red Deer Alberta, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, at the age of 101 years. Gwen was born in Mundare, Alberta, on May 31, 1923, to Maria and Josaphat Hawryluk.


Gwen came from a large Ukrainian Roman Catholic family boasting 16 children and was the last of 2; she is survived by her younger sister Lorraine, her son Daryl (Jody) and her tweety’s, her grandchildren, Linlee, Carli, Tharen and Sawyer and her great-grandchildren, Carter, Lincoln, Gunnar and Axel. Gwen was married in 1958, to Ruben Landsiedel, who passed away in May 1988. They had two boys, Wendel (Bonnie) and Daryl (Jody). We unfortunately lost Wendel in 2005. Granny is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.


A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (6 McMillan Ave, Red Deer, AB) on October 9, 2024 at 11:00 am. Condolences to Gwen’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Gwen Landsiedel” in the subject line.
