Obituary of Doris Mary Johnson
Doris Mary Johnson passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on February 12, 2021 at the age of 101 years. Doris was born to Bert (Albert) and Lizzie (Elizabeth) Smith on the family farm in Willowdale. After marrying Regnard Johnson in 1944, they farmed one mile south in the Edwell district. Doris spent her last years in Red Deer. Doris is survived by children, Jack (Deborah) Johnson and Wendy (Bill) Motley; grandchildren, Sandra and Sara Johnson, John, Clark, Paul Peters, and Katrina Vande Bunte as well as ten adoring great grandchildren. She is also survived by her step grandchildren, Crystal and Jordan Thiessen, Gary Motley, Sherry Constantin; special son, Sylvain Quenneville and sister, Audrey Nystrom. Doris also has a large extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews in Canada and Sweden, who will miss her presence in their lives. She was predeceased by her husband, Reg; granddaughter, Sonja Findlater; great grandson, Niall Peters as well as her siblings, Lois Anderson, Bud (Allan) Smith, and Jack Smith. The family wishes to extend thanks to the residents and staff of Collegeside Gardens where Doris very happily resided for the past several years, to Olds Acute Care nurses and staff, and to the Red Deer Hospice staff for the exemplary care she received while there. Due to Covid social gathering restrictions, no service will be held at this time.
