Amos Neufeld

Obituary of Amos William Neufeld

A son given by the Lord to Cornelius and Sarah (Dyck) Neufeld was born at Swalwall AB on July 26, 1932 and has now gone to be with Jesus on Thursday afternoon, November 11, 2021. Today among our many tears we rejoice in the knowledge that he is forever at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On August 9, 1957 he married his beautiful wife Heather Marie (Marsh) Neufeld who predeceased him on May 26, 2021. Amos lived alone the part nine years with many dance, bowling and golf friends. Over the past several years he took great pride in restoring a beautiful McLaughlin Horse Carriage. Some of Dad’s greatest joys in his life were horses, mountain pack trips and definitely singing and playing guitar. Amos will be lovingly missed and remembered by his children: Darwin (Barb) Neufeld of Red Deer, Deborah (Glenn) Raeburn of Red Deer, Mark (Brenda) Neufeld of Elnora, twelve grandchildren: Cody (Yesenia), Dalon (Clarissa) Porschea, Ty (Kassie), Meagan (Nick), Ryan (Levi) and Austin, eleven great grandchildren: Damiyan, Josiah, Esmee, Bennett, Ellie, Emma, Aiden, Oden, Rosie, Randy and Caleb. Condolences to Amos’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.

OUR WONDERFUL DAD – LOVED FOREVER

Our Dad was a wonderful person

Often too little understood,

We do not praise or credit him

As often as we should.

For somehow to us our Dad

Was the one who paid the bills,

While Mom would carefully kiss our hurts

And say “Be careful going up the hills”…

Our Dad would struggle daily

With his lists a mile long,

He would often run into the house

Grab his guitar and sing us a song.

Perhaps from providing and protecting

We sometimes got the notion,

That our Dad was not subject

To the feeling called emotion.

We tried to look into Dad’s heart

Where only God can see,

We found he’s very sentimental

And as soft as he can be.

But he’s so busy every day

With responsibilities of life,

He leaves the sentimental stuff

To our Mom and loving wife!

Dad’s should always remind us all

Even though they are away,

Like Jesus, he may not be seen

But we know he’s there every day!
