Obituary of Jane Lynette Harris

Lynn was born in Drumheller, AB during the dirty '30s. She was whisked off to the family farm in Morin, AB, then lived in Buffalo Lake, Stettler and finally Wetaskiwin, where she completed her schooling. While finishing up her Registered Nursing training at the Royal Alex in Edmonton, Lynn met her soulmate, Marvin Harris. They were married December 22, 1958 and never looked back, celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary in the hospice on December 22, 2019. Lynn worked at the Auxiliary Hospital in Red Deer, AB until it was time to start a family. She then dedicated her time to raising three children, Catherine, Cynthia, and Christopher. Once the kids were grown, she rewrote her RN and then worked at the Red Deer Nursing Home for 11 years. Although Lynn, who was mom, grandmother, wife, and family guru, has physically left us, she has also left the gift of an inextinguishable light that we will hold in our hearts forever. Her love for nature and all God’s creatures “great and small” has been passed down through the generations. She will be loving remembered by her son and daughters, including daughter-in-law Linda, and by her grandchildren, Cassandra and Codey Hagan from Red Deer, and Miranda, Corbin and Mikayla Harris from Jacksonville, Florida. Although predeceased by her half-sister Deedee Holmes, and her brother Peter Fearnehough, she will also be lovingly remembered by her older sister, Joyce Beal of Puyallup, Washington. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends will also hold her memory in their hearts. Lynn was also predeceased by her father, Noel Victor Fearnehough, who passed away when she was 8, and her mother Beryl Fearnehough (nee Henderson). Special thanks to the Red Deer Hospice, who ensured Mom's end of life was peaceful and pain-free, and who gave invaluable support to her grieving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice or to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4R 3S6. Condolences for the family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Arrangements in care of Meaningful Memorials Funeral Service, serving Red Deer and all of Central Alberta, 587-876-4944.
