Obituary of James Howard McEwan

James Howard “Jim” McEwan of Red Deer AB, passed away on April 5, 2022 at his home peacefully with his wife Brenda of 40 years and daughter by his side and the loving support and prayers sent by all.

 

Jim was born in 1940 in Gull Lake, SK, the only child of Jim and Florence. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and had a great gift of storytelling. Jim was a salesman for CAPS Autobody Wholesale in Red Deer for 45 years. He loved our loud family gatherings to the end.

 

Jim is survived by his cherished wife Brenda and eight children, five of his own and three step children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved and treated equally, Bud, Rose, Tyrel (Crystal) and Teala McEwan, Grant (Nicki), Troy McEwan, Colin (Chris) Justin, (Karlyn) and Prim McEwan, Lori (Andrew) Niamh, Maitland and Langley Ramage, Brad (Carol-Ann) Samantha and Jasmine Christensen, Tracy (Ernie), Jordan and Ethan Briault, Ashley (Tyler) Reneh and Lilah Nicklom, Jim, Kaden and Talon McEwan, Mike, Quincy, Jada, Janessa and Xavier McEwan. Also, to cherish Jim’s memory is his sister-in-law Shirley Sanheim; brothers-in-law Bert Sanheim and Jim Reynolds; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins and many special friends that he loved like family.

 

Jim was predeceased by his parents Jim and Florence McEwan; sister-in-law Bonnie Reynolds; cousins Laureen and Ken as well as aunts, uncles and many close friends.

 

In loving memory of Jim, the family asks that you reminisce about a fond memory you hold of him followed by a prayer.

 

In following with Jim’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held. The family would like to thank homecare, CBI and the lending cupboard for their unending support.
