Mollie Gyori (Muddle)

Obituary of Mollie Jenny Gyori (Muddle)

May 30, 1926 – December 26, 2019 Our beautiful, loving mom passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at 93 years of age. She was born in Consort, Alberta to William and Annie Muddle, pioneers who had immigrated to Canada from Kent, England. Mom had three brothers and two sisters. When she was a young girl, her family left the Consort area and moved to Rimbey, where they farmed until her parents’ passing. After graduating from high school, she worked for the Bank of Montreal in Rimbey. While working at the bank, she met her future husband, Louis John Gyori, and they were married on April 10, 1946. Together they raised six children and mom kept very busy with chores and doing the bookkeeping for a successful farming business, as well as being a great mom, aunt and friend! Mom was a wonderful, gracious hostess who loved people and made everyone feel special. She was a talented pianist and played for church services for many years. She also played for the Poplar Ridge Singers in her later years, going to the different seniors homes. Mom could play all the old-time songs and played for the group until she was 91. Mom had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and exemplified the virtues of Galatians 5: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Mom is survived by her children: John (Rosalind) of California; Patricia (Alexander) Moreland of White Rock, BC; Wendy (Tim) Wiltzen of Red Deer; Dave (Shirley) of Sylvan Lake; and Donna (William) Abraham of the UK. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Louis, in 1989; her son, Barry William (Bill), in 1997; a grandson, Braden Wiltzen, in 2017, as well as all of her siblings. Mom will always be remembered as a sweet, caring person to whom people were drawn and who was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. A Celebration of mom’s life will be held Friday, January 17, at 2 pm at Streams Christian Church, 5350 – 46 Avenue, Red Deer AB. Condolences for the family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
