Nikkita Dayton

Obituary of Nikkita Allison Dayton

Nikkita Allison Dayton of Sylvan Lake, AB passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on March 11, 2023, at the age of 38 years, after a brief but very courageous battle with a rare form of cancer.

Nikkita (Kita) Dayton was born on April 30, 1984, in Edmonton, Alberta.  Kita was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many people that knew her.  As her profile picture states, she wasn’t perfect, but damn she was awesome!!

Kita truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: Chatting with friends, family, snacking, coffee and loved spending time with her daughter Gabby. Kita had a bright energetic personality, along with the uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way making you laugh or just being there in a time of need. Having nothing she gave everything.

At the time of her passing, Kita was employed at Auto Value in Red Deer, AB.  She enjoyed helping people, and always had a smile on her face. The thing she enjoyed most in this world was to laugh… A big belly laugh.

Kita will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Gabby; brother Lanny McGregor Krish (Laura); mom Juanita Dayton (Farren); stepfather Alvin Luttmer (Janice); her treasured aunts Rhonda Barber and Jolene Seidlitz (Greg); cousins Colin Barber (Breanne), Angela Kostiniuk, Alicia Simpson (Claude), and Michael Simpson; cherished nieces Lily and Lyric; as well as her special friend Don Barr.

Kita was predeceased by her son Tyler, and her grandparents Jean and Max.

A memorial service to celebrate Nikkita’s life will be held at Sylvan Lake Legion on April 29, 2023, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Nikkita’s daughter, Gabby, in care of Juanita Dayton. Condolences to Nikkita’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Dayton” in the subject line.
