Obituary of Ronald Ivan Desharnais

Ronald Ivan Desharnais passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on April 5, 2023 at the age of 93 years.

Ron was born at Bassano, Alberta in August of 1929. He served in the armed force (artillery) from 1947 to 1949.  In 1952, Ron married Evelyn Crooks, sharing a life together of 70 years. Ron had a 24-year career with Trans Canada, retiring in 1986. 

Over the years, Ron enjoyed being a photographer and an artist.  He was also well known for always having a joke or two ready to share.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Debra Lynn “Pookie” Kerr; two grandchildren; one great grandchild as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Don and Ernie Desharnais and two sisters Doreen Lewis and Carol Lee Hawkins.

At Ron’s request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of choice.
