Obituary of Patricia Butt-Tyson

Patricia Butt-Tyson of Cremona, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Tuesday July 4th 2023 at the age of 70.

Born in August of 1952 in Hamilton, Ontario, to Shirley and Bill Butt. Patsy grew up in Dundas, Ontario. Her love of animals started at a young age. She loved riding her horses down the Bruce Trail or in the hunt club.  Much to her parent’s dismay, she often brought home her "rescue" animal friends. Upon graduating high-school Patsy went on to study nursing and subsequently practiced as an R.N.

In the early 1980s Patsy moved to Calgary where she worked for Beecham Pharmaceuticals. In the late 1980s Patsy met Francis Brian Tyson. Patsy and Brian were married September 2nd, 1989 in Sidney, BC and soon after they settled down in Cremona, Alberta.  Patsy spent the next 30+ years in Cremona and surrounding area.

Patsy could often be found pulling weeds (no matter where she was), reading, visiting with friends or surrounded by her many animals.

Patsy is survived by her mother, Shirley (Butt) Viveash; brothers Robert ‘Bob’ Butt (Annie), David Viveash (Ros) and Bill Butt (Susan); sisters Wendy Butt, Christine Flynn and Liz Hart (Randy); and most importantly her daughter Brianne Tyson (Karl Rose), grandchildren Reahanne, Kasia and Korbin Rose. She will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends

Patsy is predeceased by her Father Bill Butt and stepfather Bill Viveash.
