Obituary of John Arnold Scheers
John was born in 1950 in Duiven, Netherlands. Soon after, the family immigrated to Fredericton, New Brunswick where they owned a farm. A farm which is still in the family today.
In 1971, John moved to Calgary, where he became an accomplished mechanic. He worked as a mechanic for 29 years until 2000, when he switched into the home building industry as a framer. As a man of many talents, his passions in life were cars, hockey, and carpentry. He met Karen in 1972 and married and started a family soon after in 1974.
John will be lovingly remembered by his brother Arnold Scheers; sisters Martina McGinn, Bernadina Scholten, and Kathy Rolph; sons Patrick Scheers, Robert (Abby) Scheers, Jeremy (Tanya) Scheers, and Daniel Scheers; grandchildren Taylin, Jager, Brianna, Sloane, and Ripley.
John was predeceased by his parents Martinus Scheers, Catharina Scheers and by his sisters Thea and Mary.
A private service to celebrate John’s life is to be held by the family at a later date. Condolences to John’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Scheers” in the subject line.
