John Jenner

Obituary of John Terrance Jenner

It is with a heavy heart of sorrow and overflowing love that we announce the passing of Terry Jenner on September 10, 2023 in Red Deer, Alberta.

Terry was born in Sherridon, Manitoba, to parents Patricia “Audrey” and Earl Waldruff Jenner (predeceased). He spent his childhood years in Carragana, Saskatchewan; his teen years in Hinton, Alberta; and his work years in Jasper and Red Deer, Alberta.

He was passionate about his family, photography, and playing crib and crokinole. He was a painter by trade and finished his professional career of 25+ years with Quinn Contracting and Nova Chemicals Joffre Plant (Joffre, AB), where he had made many long-term friendships. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Terry and built a friendship with him, knew him as a kind, caring, and gentle man who had a funny, witty personality, with a great sense of humour.

Terry is survived by his loving wife Deborah; children Donita (Kurt), Trevor, Ryan (Julie), and Natalia (Pete); grandchildren Clark, Sierra, Curtis, Shauna, Emilia, Preston, Emerson, Trayce, Callista, Emma, Nevaeh, Bailey, and Ashlee; sister Carol; and his nieces and nephews (who knew him as Uncle Toots) Rhonda (Paul), Greg, and Jenni, and all their respective families.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society and/or the Canadian Cancer Society. A small service to celebrate Terry’s life will be held on October 14, 2023, at the Red Deer Home Church at 1 England Way, Red Deer, AB, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Condolences to Terry’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Jenner” in the subject line.
