Obituary of Ronald Alphonse Gratton

Mr. Ronald Alphonse Gratton of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at home peacefully on September 6, 2023, at the age of 64 years.

Born in Chelmsford Ontario, Ron made his way to Alberta as a young man to settle and call home. A unique and animated storyteller, Ron entertained everyone around him. He had a story for every occasion.  Ron would often say, “if I can’t make someone laugh every day, life is not worth living.” Family meant everything to Ron, and he spent his last days surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife Donna Gratton; daughters Jacquelin Sayles, and Samantha Paterson; grandchildren Haley and Hannah; brother Robert Gratton; and his sister Claire Gratton. Ron was predeceased by Jean Paul, Fern, Rollie, Lucy, and Gabby.

A memorial to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at 32 Nyman Crescent, Red Deer, Alberta, on September 17, 2023, at 1 pm. The family invites all to come and share in snacks and refreshments in celebration of Ron. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Red Deer Food Bank, through their website at www.reddeerfoodbank.com. Condolences to Ron’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
