Walter Lorentz

Obituary of Walter Carl Lorentz

Walter Carl Lorentz of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta on September 19, 2023, at the age of 86 years.

Walter was born and raised in Calmar Alberta. He married the love of his life, Deborah on August 7th, 1982.

Walter spent 45 years driving truck and retired at the age of 65. Walter spent his retirement enjoying time with his family and loved ones. He found fulfilment in photography and writing about “The Mighty Peace River.” Walter surrendered his life to his saviour Jesus Christ later on in his life at the age of 70 years old, and attended Living Stones Church when his health allowed. Though there were struggles, that certainly didn’t stop the hunger he had for God’s word, as he spent uncounted hours delving into the Living Truth.

Walter will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Deborah Rose Lorentz; sons, Richard Lorentz, David Lorentz, Nicholas Lorentz; daughters, Angela Harder, and Penney Janzen; 15 grandchildren; and his 5 great grand-children.

Walter was predeceased by his parents, Carl Lorentz, and Paulina Doll; his siblings, Martha Ankerstien, and Annie Kahlback.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Living Stones Church, “Benevolence fund”.

Condolences to Walter’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate "Lorentz" in the subject line.
