Obituary of Barbara Joyce Howe
Barbara Joyce Howe of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away on September 20, 2023, at the age of 90 years.
Barbara was born in the April of 1933, in Newcastle, New Brunswick, to Isabella Martineau. Barbara had one sister, Loretta Dawkins. Barbara was the finest mother anyone could have. She was devoted to her three sons Geary, Stephen, and Ivan. Barbara created a wonderful life for her family. Every Saturday she would bake beans and fresh brown bread. For Halloween, she would hand make the costumes. Barbara created a love for cooking and a sense of adventure in her three sons.
Barbara always worked hard and had many jobs. Her favourites were selling clothing fabrics and working at the Michener Center, working with the clients that lived there. Her compassion was limitless, her kindness unbounding. She will be lovingly remembered.
Thank you, Mom.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Geary (Carmen), and Ivan; grandchildren, Stephanie-Marie, Allison, Tanner, Katherine, and Jericho; great grandchild, Stirling; niece and nephew, Michelle and Luther Dawkins; and by her grand nephew, Julian Dawkins. Barbara was predeceased by her mother, Isabella; sister, Loretta; son, Stephen; and by her nephew Ronald Dawkins.
A celebration of life for Barbara will be held at the LDS Bower Chapel, 3002 - 47 Ave., Red Deer AB at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
