Jean Davis

Obituary of Jean Mary Davis

At 97, Jean left us heartbroken on a beautiful Sunday morning. We are comforted by memories of her kindness, courage, integrity, positive attitude and humor. She is mourned by sons John (Lynn) Davis and Doug Davis, remaining family including 10 grand and 7 great grandchildren, friends, and her cat Sami Davis.  Jean was pre-deceased by husbands Robert (Bob) and Sydney, sons Jim, Wayne (Rob) and daughter Judy as well as three grandchildren.

Born in Hespero, she resided in Leslieville and Rimbey before making Red Deer home since 1970. A proud achievement was becoming a nurse and she worked at RDRH and in private medical services. Jeans biggest focus was always her family and helping anyone in need. She loved garage sales, playing the piano, watching the seasons from inside by the fireplace and tending campfires. Jean resided in her home until the end with her last months at Villa Marie Care Center in Red Deer. She fought so hard not to leave us, but God had plans.

Jean and her family wish to extend thanks to Dr. Philpott for decades of care, the medical staff at RDRH, homecare staff, and the caregivers at Villa Marie. Jean is missed so much and lives forever in our hearts and memories.  A celebration of life will follow at a future date to be determined.  Condolences to Jean’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. In lieu of flowers, donations if desired may be given to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (Central Alberta Cancer Center), the Breathe (the Lung Association), Alberta Lung or other.
