Arthur Jarvis

Obituary of Arthur William Jarvis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur ‘Art’ William Jarvis at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 19 at the age of 88 years.

Art will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. His occupations over the years included farmer, trucker, and mechanic. He operated his own business, A.W. Jarvis Feedlot Cleaning for 14 years. This was followed by being a service technician with Red Deer Vending and Red Carpet Food Services.  Art was an amazing handyman who could build and fix nearly anything that came his way. In the summers, he loved fishing and camping in his motorhome joined by family and friends. He and JoAnne attended many community hall dances and musical jam sessions around Central Alberta. Art was always at the ready to join in to play the spoons. He loved the opportunity to visit with friends over a McDonald’s coffee.

Art will be lovingly remembered by his wife, JoAnne, of sixty-five years; his children Trena, Darcy (Laurie), and Trudy; his grandchildren Kyle, Brett, Cole (Katelyn), Niki (Braden), and Shaye (Nick); and great grandchildren Tatem and Keslyr; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Although Art will be missed dearly, he will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour, kindness, and caring nature.

Art’s family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff on Unit 22 of the Red Deer Regional Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care.

A Celebration of Art’s life will be held at the Festival Hall, 4214 - 58 Street, Red Deer AB on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences to Arthur’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate Jarvis in the subject line.
