Obituary of Elwin Gail Speer
Elwin Gail Speer of Salmon Arm, BC, passed away at the Innisfail Health Center on February 7, 2024, at the age of 67.
Elwin was born August 19, 1956, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to Albert and Grace Doucette. She grew up in Big River, Saskatchewan.
Elwin completed a lengthy career as a nurse and practiced in Vulcan, High River, and Strathmore Alberta. Elwin retired in Salmon Arm, BC, where she spent her days vacationing to tropical destinations, baking pies with fruit from her own trees & bushes, visiting her favourite local thrift store, and tending to her yard, flower beds, and garden.
Elwin will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Candice Speer (James), Gillian Kranenborg (Mark); grandchildren, Kooper and Jasper Kranenborg: Morgan, Nolan, and Michaela Snell; brothers, Larry (Donna), Kennith (Ruth), Ian (Trisha); and her sisters Wendy (Craig), Sharon (Darryl).
Elwin was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Grace Doucette; sister, Caroline; and her brother, Lawrence.
A celebration of Elwin’s life will be held in Calgary, in May of 2024. Details will be announced at a later date. Elwin’s remains will be laid to rest in Big River, Saskatchewan, following a family memorial in June. Details will be announced at a later date.
