Obituary of Joan Katherine Blood
Joan Katherine Blood of Lacombe, Alberta passed away at the Lacombe Community Hospital Long Term Care on May 20, 2024, at the age of 70 years.
Joan is survived by her daughter Sarah, son James, and her beloved dog Bear. Joan spent her life marching to the beat of her own drum. Everything she did was an adventure, such as hunting for the best black liquorice ice cream in the middle of winter. She didn’t stop until she made her dreams come true. Joan was in the Canadian Armed Forces and gained so many life experiences. She loved to travel. Joan also volunteered for countless charities, whether it was offering craft products, or just her time. Joan’s greatest passion was sewing, and she was always up for a trip to the fabric store. Joan could chat with you for hours about fabric, crafting, and quilting. Joan will be remembered for her passion for sewing, her bright smile, and her inspiring spirit.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Lacombe (5138 49 Street, Lacombe) on June 1st, 2024, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
