Gary Ernest Nason Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and a sigh of relief that the family of Gary Nason announce his passing on May 4, 2024 at the age of 81.

Born in Red Deer, Gary grew up in British Columbia but made his way back to Red Deer where he married his wife, Esther. They made Red Deer their home. Together for 49 years they enjoyed travelling, camping, fishing, as well as entertaining guests at their home. Gary was a diehard B.C. sports fan. He was both a helper and a fixer. He would help anyone and could fix anything.

Gary is survived by his wife, Esther; sisters Ricki (Trapper), and Barbara; son Lenny; brother-in-law and his sister-in-law; and by his numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary’s family extends a special thank you to the staff at Apollo House for their care and kindness towards Gary.

As per Gary’s request, there is no service to be held. In lieu of flowers, and in honour of Gary, the family asks that readers visit a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia, or to simply spend time with family. Condolences to Gary’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Nason” in the subject line.
