Wayne Wageman

Obituary of Wayne Wilfred Wageman

With great sadness and profound love, the family of Wayne Wageman announces his passing on July 29, 2024.

Wayne was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on August 19, 1939. He grew up in Teepee Creek, Alberta, where he met his beloved wife, Loreen. They moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta where they had a family and raised their three children.

Wayne was a quiet, proud and laid-back man who loved to share his wisdom and stories with both those he loved and felt comfortable with. He had a great sense of humor with quite the laugh. His skills and great knowledge made him quite the handyman who could fix anything and everything.

With his great love of the outdoors you could often find him camping, fishing, canoeing, golfing and gardening. He also loved to play his fiddle, mandolin and had recently taken up the guitar. He had a vast library of both books and music and his favorite pastime was reading and working on his sudoku puzzles.

Over the years he wore many hats, working as a farmer, mill worker, heavy duty mechanic, and an oilfield consultant to name a few.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Loreen; children Lorinda, Warren, and Krysta; grandchildren Danielle and Brennen; siblings Dwight, Marlene, and Pamela; as well as by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Clara and Wilfred.

A private family celebration of life for Wayne will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to thank Meaningful Memorials Funeral Service for all their kindness and compassion.
