Timothy MacLeod

Obituary of Timothy James MacLeod

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Timothy James “Tim” MacLeod at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on July 23, 2024, at the age of 73 years after a long but brave fight with pulmonary fibrosis.

Tim was born in 1951 to parents Doug and Teresa in Ottawa, ON. The family then moved to Saskatchewan, where Tim was joined by younger brothers Terry, Tom, and Ted. After many years there, the family then relocated to Winnipeg in the late 1960s; not long after Tim moved up to the hamlet of Gillam in search of work. It was here he met his future wife, Margaret. They married in 1971 and were soon joined by daughter Sharon in 1972. In 1978, the couple made the decision to move to Red Deer, whereby this time Doug and Teresa had moved as well. Tim was a “jack of all trades,” but worked mainly in the industrial sector with heavy machinery. He also ran a successful business with his father Doug for close to twenty years.

Tim is survived by his wife of 52 years Margaret, daughter Sharon (Craig), grandchildren Becks (Remie) and Cassandra; brothers Terry (Kerri), Tom (Colleen), and Ted (Edna); sisters-in-law Eva, Elsie, Florence (Kevin), CJ, Doreen (Pat), Sarah, Jackie; brothers-in-law Simeon (Debbie), David; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends; and his favorite great-grandpuppy Milo. He was predeceased by his parents Doug and Teresa, his nephew Jacob, parents-in-law Ada and Hector, sisters-in-law Rebecca and Ann, brothers-in-law John, Ralph, and Robert; and his feline companion Aro.

There is no service planned at this time. We will announce when we are having one at a later date. If you wish, a donation in Tim’s honor can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or your local animal shelter.

Condolences to Tim’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “MacLeod” in the subject line.
