Rebecca Jarvis Payne

Obituary of Rebecca Jarvis Payne

On December 12th, 2024, early in the morning, this world lost one of its kindest, most compassionate and wonderful daughters.  Rebecca Jarvis Payne was suddenly taken home to be with her Heavenly Father.  Left to miss her are her husband of 30 years, Jas; daughter Mia (Matt); sons, Jonny (Jordan), Jake (Natalie), Jordon ( Casey); parents, George and Kathy, brothers, Eric (Cathy), Jon (Jodie), Dave (Micheline), and sisters Katie (Mike), and Suzanne (Andy) will also mourn her loss.  Several nieces; nephews and numerous friends join in the sadness.

Rebecca lived life to the fullest and loved to travel.  She enjoyed being in any hot place with the people closest to her.  Hawaii, Florida, the Caribbean, all her favorites.  Music, movies, horrible television shows and her dogs occupied her time.  Her life was a symphony of joy and wonderfulness.  Her positivity and infectious smile allowed her to connect to people all around her.  Her time working on Unit 39 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre was time she greatly enjoyed.  Serving children in need was her passion.  She worked with many wonderful people, and she will be surely missed in that capacity as well.

Rebecca loved the Lord.  She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served the Lord in every capacity she could.  She served a Mission in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission and used the experience as a foundation in developing relationships with those around her.  Bringing people unto the joy of the gospel was something she was proud of.

More than anything, Rebecca loved her family.  Her ideal vacation was one surrounded by her people.  Whether enjoying Universal in Orlando or hiking/beaching in Kailua, Hawaii, she was happiest surrounded by her husband, kids and loved ones.  Nothing brought her more joy than being around Jas, Mia, Jonny and Jake.  Happiness meant being with family and those she loved the most.

A celebration of Rebecca’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024 at 4:30 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 8 – Keast Way in Red Deer AB.  All are welcome who want to join together and celebrate the amazing person she was.
